EASTON STAMP SHOW:

The Club's 30th annual stamp show will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Easton Fire Hall, which is located at 315 Aurora Park Drive, off of North Aurora Street and Creamery Lane in Easton, MD. The show will feature:

There is no admission fee, and free parking will be available. It is anticipated that attendance will be high, due to widespread publicity. Club members are reminded that they are welcome to place their surplus philatelic materials on sale at the Club table. Items should be priced, and the Club will retain a 10% commission on all sales.

Founded in 1982, the Tidewater Stamp Club supports its members' interests in stamp collecting, encourages young people to become stamp collectors and, through meetings, outreach programs, participation in the yearly Waterfowl Festival and Club-sponsored annual stamp show, promotes popular interest in philately.




EDITORIAL

Parents:

2012 through 2015 are anniversary years of two major wars that our country endured - the War of 1812 and the Civil War. The young students in your family will learn about these events from a variety of sources, mostly academic such as history or social studies textbooks, but also from TV and the Internet.

There is another way, however, that students can obtain an understanding of U.S. history, namely from commemorative stamps issued over the years by the United States Postal Service. Some of these are pictured below. Encourage your children to collect these commemoratives.
